Andrew Corkill, Chair

Andrew has been employed by Sport Waikato from early 2017 following a career in local government. His role at Sport Waikato is as General Manager of People and Communities which covers portfolios including Taakaro-Ora, Under 5 Energize, Project Energize and Active & Well. Andrew has spent the majority of his life in the Waikato and follows all things sport very closely! He’s particularly passionate about trail running and mountain biking, as well as exploring new places with his growing young family.

Hayley Beach

Hayley is a Chartered Accountant and senior manager at KPMG Hamilton, of which she has been a part for over 13 years. She has experience in all things accounting related, is passionate about making a difference to business through quality advisory work and currently works with a large number of clients across a range of sizes and industries. She has managed a large team within the Private Enterprise division and has experience in managing multiple projects and deadlines, service delivery and staff development. She is also on the KPMG National Communities Team, heading Corporate Social Responsibility for the Hamilton office. Hayley is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) and the Golden Key Honour Society. Hayley had held the role of treasurer and is delighted to use her financial skills to contribute to the strategic direction of Progress to Health. She is proud of the work the organisation does in the community, supporting individuals to enhance mental and physical wellbeing. Outside of work, Hayley enjoys all things health and fitness related, architecture and renovations on her first home. And of course spending time with her family, including fiancé and two young boys who keep her on her toes.

Mark Etheridge

Mark is an Authorised Financial Advisor working as a senior Investment Advisor with Craig’s Investment Partners where he has been for over 15 years. Mark has extensive experience in the global investment world where his primary focus is on managing the investments of individuals, Trusts, companies and charitable groups. 
Mark has extensive experience in governance within the charitable sector in particular the disability sector with a number of board appointments at both a local and National level spanning over 10 years. 
Mark is also a member of the Institute of Directors. 
In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends enjoying the many outdoor activities the country has to offer.

Michael Bland

Michael’s work has always focussed on health care and education, mainly attached to health professional programmes: undergraduate/postgraduate nursing, child protection, control and restraint management. Michael started as a registered general nurse and registered sick children’s nurse in the UK. He has a strong history as a practitioner and academic in child protection and also of quality improvement implementation within the NHS and Department of Health, England. 
Over his career Michael has published many articles in peer-reviewed journals in health around quality improvement initiatives. He is a peer reviewer to Child Abuse Review and the Journal of Child Health Care. 
As a leading non-government organisation, Michael is impressed with Progress to Health’s focus on recovery and reintegration for consumers into their communities. It is this over-arching philosophy that drives his contribution to its future strategic direction and success. 
Michael is a keen tramper (former Chairman of Land Search and Rescue: Hamilton), winter climber and cyclist enjoying road, mountain and track racing. To support his interest in landscape photography Michael is completing a Diploma of Photography. He is President of the Cambridge Racquets Club and, when he has spare time, enjoys relaxing with family and friends for a barbecue and cold drink. 

Gillian Holm

Gillian is a freelance marketing professional and technical writer.  She has held positions at Auckland International Airport Limited, L'Oreal New Zealand, Hamilton and Waikato Tourism and two NZX-listed property companies over her 20 year career.  
A recent board appointee, Gillian is in awe of the impact the Progress to Health teams make within the communities they serve.  She hopes to use her commercial experience to help develop the PressGo brand and further raise Progress to Health's public profile.
Gillian lives in Cambridge with her husband, two sons and large vegetable garden, and in her spare time heads to the beach for boating and fishing.

Executive and Leadership Team

Karen Covell, Chief Executive

Karen has been chief executive for Progress to Health since 2004.
In 2015, Progress to Health launched PressGo, its professional service with the vision of creating healthy and vibrant workplaces. As well as being part of the consultancy part of the business, Karen also has operational oversight and responsibility for it.
Before that she was chief executive for Epilepsy New Zealand, a support and information agency for people living with epilepsy.
She has a wide knowledge and understanding of health and disability issues both at a local, regional and national level and specifically for non-government, not-for-profit, and community organisations having spent the last 20 years in this sector. Contributions include being chair for the Waikato DHB mental health and addiction services local advisory group; trustee for the Health & Disability Expo Trust; and was appointed President of Inclusive NZ in December 2016.
In the past she has participated in the MoH’s Health & Disability NGO working group; the HR Emergency Toolkit advisory group; and National Population Outcomes Framework for Mental Health and Addiction working group; treasurer and trustee for Dress for Success; and a school board trustee. Her strengths include leadership, management, change management, organisation development and strategic planning. 

Angela Meyrick, Operations Manager

Angela began working with Progress to Health in 2005 and brought with her a background in Social Work.
With an existing passion for policy and compliance, Angela decided to take on the challenge of Operations for the organisation with a focus on the quality, contracts and compliance arenas. 

Noeline Kuru

Consumer Resource and Information Services - Waikato
Vocational and Activity Living Services - Taranaki

Noeline has worked in Mental Health since 1995 after her initial development of a Peer Support group. Noeline's team provide services throughout the Waikato.
The passion that drives Noeline is her own lived experience and the belief in community focused recovery social inclusion.
She continues to develop and up skill those who have a disconnect from their community and works to see that community has a connection with those who live with mental health and addictions.

Patty Posthuma

Vocational and Transition from School Services - Waikato and Taupo
Vocational and Activity Living Services - Waikato

Patty leads teams throughout the Taupo and Waikato regions.
Patty has worked in Mental Health after her own personal experience of accessing mental health services in 2000. Starting as a volunteer, she went on to gain Certificate in Mental Health Support Work and is trained in Aukiti kaipipa kaimahi (Quitcards).
The passion that drives her is the support, help and encouragement she was given while on her own journey and a great belief in community/ Social Inclusion and reconnecting individuals with their communities. I continue to develop and up-skill where and when needed to provide those who live with mental health and addictions, the best support.
