Workplace Wellbeing Awards

What are the New Zealand Workplace Wellbeing awards?

The awards are run by the Heart Foundation and Health and Productivity Institute of New Zealand (HAPINZ). The awards recognise and celebrate those organisations that have measurably improved their business competitiveness through valuing the health and wellbeing of their employees.

HAPINZ chair, Dr Louise Schofield, says the institute aims to improve the health and wellbeing of New Zealanders and reduce health system costs by using the workplace as a setting for the delivery of preventive health services. “Businesses who do offer tangible wellness initiatives often demonstrate increased employee engagement along with many other benefits to both the employees and the business overall”.

There are three award categories:

- Business and organisations with less than 300 employees;
- Business and organisations with 300+ employees;
- Best new programme/activities (programmes that have the foundations in place but may not have yet seen measurable change).

Benefits to an Employer by taking part in the awards:

- Obtain national recognition for your organisation’s health and wellbeing strategy.
- Enhance your ‘Employer of Choice’ status.
- Raise your profile.
- Encourage pride within your team.
- Have your strategy and programmes compared with others and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Receive valuable feedback from experienced evaluators and judges.
- Be seen as an exceptional business.
