Team Leader

We have a vacancy for a Team Leader for our Waikato Options service. This service
supports people living with mental health conditions to craft their own plans towards becoming active in their community and/or employment or training and facilitates contacts and activities that will increase their chances of succeeding.

We’re looking for a driven, innovative person to work alongside our Community Development Manager and become a valued, contributing member of our Leadership Team.

Reporting to the Community Development Manager, we will seek to provide you with a challenging and rewarding work environment that will allow you to coach and mentor your team to deliver excellent services.

This position is a combination of supervisory/administrative duties and direct service delivery, and unless individually negotiated with the community development manager or chief executive carries a split of 10% team leader and 90% service delivery.

We will be looking for candidates that demonstrate experience and understanding in:
  • People management, values, culture and behaviour; 
  • Service delivery and development; 
  • Stakeholder and client relationships 
If you are going to be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A high level of literacy and numeracy 
  • To be able to use a wide variety of Microsoft Office programmes, including databases 
  • A current, full, driver’s licence 
  • A current first aid certificate 
  • Certificate in First Line Management or equivalent 
  • Certificate in Adult Teaching and/or similar 
  • Previous experience in mental health or disabilities
