Recovery Facilitator

Progress to Health is a community organisation providing mental health and disability support services in Waikato, Taupo and Taranaki District Health Board areas.

We are seeking a staff member who can provide a recovery-oriented service to assist people wi
th mental illness to develop their life and living skills and enjoy relationships with others.

Progress to Health employs recovery facilitators to provide accessible, recovery-oriented resources, information, education and networks.

The recovery facilitator may:
  • act on behalf of an individual consumer with their permission if they determine that their voice is not being heard 
  • provide recovery training and planning to service users, service providers and other organisations wishing to support people living mental illness.
You will be working alongside and supporting service users to:
  • improved participation in education and training; 
  • developed and maintained work skills and work readiness; 
  • greater stability of lifestyle; and 
  • increased social ‘connectedness’ and sense of belonging. 
You will apply the principles of recovery, anti-discrimination and destigmatisation throughout your work and your abilit
y to maintain confidentiality, discretion and make sound judgement calls will be a given.
