Community Support Facilitator, Ngaruawahia

Do you consider yourself a “positive change agent” for recovery-focused mental health support services with a special focus on horticulture based activities? Yes? Then you might be the person we are looking for.

Will vary according to each individual’s aspirations and needs, but include:
· Individuals actively participating in gardening and other activities to achieve their stated goals
· Active promotion of individuals inclusion and integration into the community

The right person for this role:
· Will be able to facilitate and support individuals to take part in community activities
· Has work practice that ensures safety for self and others
· Proactively links the person to opportunities
· Supports individuals to work towards and achieve their personal aspirations by suggesting appropriate recovery activities

Ideally you:
· Have experience and understanding of mental health issues and disability
· Have a positive attitude and respect toward people
· Understanding of the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi
· Are computer literate
· Have a current full driver’s license and first aid certificate
· Have a relevant qualification in horticulture and/or proven experience
