Community Support Facilitator, Hamilton

We are looking for a special person who can enable people to identify and participate in activities that will enhance their chances of gaining employment or entering training of their choice.

You will succeed in this role if you can demonstrate that working alongside and supporting service users has:
- improved their participation in education and training;
- developed and maintained their work skills and work readiness;
- given them greater stability of lifestyle
- increased social ‘connectedness’ and sense of belonging.

You will be achieving this by:
- developing trusting and productive relationships with service users
- taking a non-judgmental approach
- proactively linking the person to employment opportunities
- supporting the person to work towards and achieve their personal aspirations by providing recovery focused activities

Ideally you will have:
- previous experience of working with people with disability or mental illness
- a positive attitude and respect toward all people.
- understanding of the three principles of Te Tiriti O Waitangi
- be computer literate (Microsoft Suite and a client management system)
- current full driver’s license
- an appropriate qualification, competencies, skills and/or experience in providing vocational support

Your ability to maintain confidentiality, discretion and make sound judgement calls will be a given.
